Kharkiv region

Briefly about the main thing

The project "Providing rapid, flexible assistance to meet the emergency needs of the population affected by the conflict in Ukraine and neighboring countries" was implemented by the CSO "Tse - Nasha Sprava". Its goal was to provide humanitarian assistance to residents of deoccupied villages in the Kharkiv region that were under Russian occupation in 2022: Velyki Khutory and Petrivka - from April 3 to September 10, Martove - from February 24 to September 10.

The project involved the delivery of hygiene kits to local residents who had experienced difficult conditions of occupation, including eviction from their homes and isolation in cellars. As part of the activity, 834 kits were distributed: 210 in Velikiye Khutory (12.10.2022), 230 in Petrivka (19.10.2022) and 394 in Martove (29.10.2022). Each kit contained shampoo, bath and laundry soap, washing powder, toothpaste, three toothbrushes, wet wipes and toilet paper, designed for one family (on average 3 people), and families with many children were given 2-3 kits.

The selection of settlements was based on three criteria: occupation, remoteness and inaccessibility (destroyed bridges, dams, mined areas), and lack of assistance from other organizations. Beneficiaries were determined based on vulnerability: single mothers (15 people), large families with three or more children (10 people), people with disabilities (54 people), and the elderly (278 people). In total, 834 unique beneficiaries were reached, which, given the average family size, is equivalent to approximately 2,250 people. The main challenge was logistics due to destroyed infrastructure and mined roads, which forced the team to overcome water bodies using bypass dirt roads. Thanks to cost optimization, the plan of 600 kits was exceeded, reaching 834.

Project achievements

The project was successfully completed. 834 hygiene kits were distributed, reaching 834 unique beneficiaries (486 women, 348 men), mainly people over 50 years old (511 people) and aged 18-49 (240 people). Short-term impact: providing basic hygiene items in conditions of shortages caused by the occupation. Long-term impact: supporting the dignity and morale of the victims.
