Makariv town and Andriivka village

Briefly about the main thing
The project “Responding to the multi-sectoral humanitarian needs of the population directly affected by the conflict and displacement” was implemented by the CSO “Tse - Nasha Sprava!”. Its main goal was to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to residents of the town of Makariv and the village of Andriivka in the Kyiv region – small settlements located in the north of the region, which found themselves in the path of the russian troops’ advance from the Belarusian border to Kyiv. These territories suffered significant destruction due to fierce fighting at the beginning of the war: most of the houses in Makariv and Andriivka were destroyed or seriously damaged, which left local residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in an extremely difficult situation, with limited access to food and basic survival tools.
The project consisted of two key activities aimed at meeting the food needs of the affected. The first activity was the distribution of hot lunches. The CSO “Tse - Nasha Sprava!” organized the preparation and targeted delivery of 720 hot lunches, of which 520 were distributed in Makarov and 200 in Andriyivka. All lunches were delivered on one day – May 20, 2023, which demonstrates well-coordinated logistics and team efforts. The second activity was the distribution of food kits. On the same day, May 20, 2023, the organization distributed 720 food kits identically: 520 in Makarov and 200 in Andriyivka. Each kit contained basic food products. The selection of beneficiaries was carried out taking into account their vulnerability and urgent needs.
The focus was on IDPs who had fled their homes due to the conflict, as well as local residents who remained in destroyed settlements. Priority groups included single parents with children (17 people), large families (14 people) and people whose homes had been damaged (689 people). These categories were chosen because of their particular need for support: many had lost not only their homes but also their livelihoods, such as jobs or access to their own food supplies. For example, kindergartens and other facilities in these settlements had been destroyed, which exacerbated the difficulties for families with children.
Project achievements
The project was successfully completed. 720 hot meals and 720 food kits were distributed, reaching 720 unique beneficiaries. Among them were IDPs and local residents, including 17 single parents and 14 large families. Short-term impact: providing food in a situation where most houses were destroyed. Long-term impact: supporting morale and basic needs.
