The goal of the project is to reduce the risks associated with the cold season and to provide the minimum necessary conditions for the safe and dignified living of people affected by the war who have limited opportunities for self-sufficiency.

The essence of the project

The project involves providing targeted winter humanitarian assistance that addresses the basic needs of people for warmth, safety, and daily survival in wartime conditions.

Within the framework of the initiative, the following activities are being carried out:

• distribution of solid fuel (firewood) for heating households;

• provision of individual non-food items (NFI) kits to support vulnerable people during the cold period.

Visual documentation

On the page, visual materials are presented that reflect the key stages of project implementation—from the preparation of assistance to its provision to households—as an element of transparency and confirmation of the actual implementation of the project.

Geography and scope of assistance

Solid fuel (firewood) is provided:

• in the Donetsk region, Kramatorsk district

(Sloviansk, Cherkask, and Kramatorsk communities) — 272 households, 7.51 m³ of firewood each;

• in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Nikopol district

(Myrivska community) — 78 households, 7.51 m³ of firewood each.

Non-food items (NFI) are distributed in:

• Kharkiv region, Izium district — 350 individual kits.

What is included in the NFI kit

Each kit includes a mattress, sleeping bag, thermal blanket, emergency foil blanket, power bank, thermos, portable burner, and a battery-operated flashlight.

The kits are designed to meet the basic needs of people for warmth, lighting, and the ability to prepare food in conditions of limited access to infrastructure.

Who This Project Is For

The assistance is aimed at internally displaced persons, the elderly, persons with disabilities, households affected by hostilities, and other vulnerable categories of the population. Selection is carried out based on vulnerability criteria and in coordination with communities.

Expected Impact

The project allows for heating homes during the winter period, reduces the risks of hypothermia, and supports basic stability and a sense of security for hundreds of families in regions with increased humanitarian burden.
